Spellbinder's New Release: Cardmaker Series

Hello, crafty friends!

I am thrilled to be a guest designer on the Spellbinders blog in the month May to celebrate the release of the latest stamps and dies for the Cardmaker Series.

Today, I am sharing 3 projects using stamps from this brand-new release to help you get inspired. I created many cards from this release but for this post I am going to showcase three of the sets.

Let's Look at my Designs

I can not tell you how proud I am of my colouring for this beautiful park scene!

I used the whole stamp and created square cards but I do not believe you have to do this. I think stamping half the scene or ¾ would look really effective, especially on an A2 card base.

I visioned the park in the day and at dusk…so I coloured them that way.

To achieve the different sky backgrounds, I stamped the image on some masking paper and fussy cut the skyline. I then used Distress Oxides primarily in blue for the daytime effect, then added some lemon into the blue to give a dusk effect. I used so many Copic markers, adding colour here and there and trying to make shadows, that I cannot list them as I just don’t remember!...sorry.

If you look at the two images above, side by side, you can see the same scene but, just by changing up some colours, it has given a different effect. Left, the park by day, right, the park at dusk.

Oh goodness, how cute are these guys?? I think they are adorable!

Okay, so I got my Distress Oxides out again to do the sky. This time though, I wanted to demonstrate the different ways you can use a Playful Koalas Stamp Set along with your die or stencil stash. On one of the cards, I die cut right through the centre of the finished image with a rectangle die from my stash…Gulp! I then popped up the panel to give some dimension. Same stamp threes ways...Winner!!

I think this Fabulous Friends Stamp Set IS FABULOUS! I have a very best friend who I have known for many years. I thought of her when I designed these cards. I’m a blonde, and she is brunette so it made sense to me to colour hair to reflect that, so I made two cards. Simple Copic colouring here, but I did frame them both with some hot foiling just to give that extra pow! Hope you like these girlies and they remind you of your precious friend time.
