  • Frog Love with Simon Says Stamp

Hi crafty friends I hope you have been enjoying the summer in your part of the world? We have had a long hot one here in Calgary, but unfortunately the fires from BC, and the odd one from Alberta really did impact the air quality. Its such a shame that to get a hot summer, the west coast of Canada has to endure the negative impacts. Not to mention the poor farmers who are trying to make a living. When there's no rain, everyone suffers including our beloved animals. Well this card is one of my favourite designs ever! This set has adorable illustrations and the stamp set is called Toadally Unforgetable by Simon Says Stamp. I used a technique called masking for this one. I had the notion I wanted the toads to be sitting on one another's heads, and this was the result. Great idea for a slimline card too actually. What ever you are doing today, I hope it makes you smile...

  • You're A Hoot with Gina K Designs

Hi crafty friends! I am back again with another video on my You Tube. This video demonstrates me creating this cute card using one of the stamp sets out of the recent Monthly Card Kit by Gina K Designs. Its sooooo cute...everyone loves owls!! I am spending a lot of free time trying to learn video editing and making sure my designs are optimal for social media. I am a bit of a perfectionist, so it's kind of time consuming for me. I am all self taught with everything PC and social media. Scrolling down there is a link directly to my latest video showing how I made this fun design, I remember the days when I could only type on my PC with one finger, and here I am designing cards, blogging, video editing and graphic designing! Phew! Enjoy the video and the card. I do my 'meet & greet' at the beginning which I am trialling to see if its a popular way to go. I really appreciate your company and appreciate it when you follow and subscribe. It makes all the effort so worth it.💗

  • Hill Blossoms with Altenew

Hi crafty friends... How are you all doing out there? I created a card that I wanted to share with you that demonstrates using the Hill Blossoms stencils by Altenew. I have a new video up on my You Tube channel at Linkcrafty Cards, so just click the link below and relax and enjoy.......

  • Spellbinders Monthly Kits Gallery

Hi guys So, I signed up for regular Spellbinders Monthly Kits recently to try them out.. I ordered the Glimmer, Small & Large Die of the month. If you order them together you get a bit of a discount. Here are some of my projects that I made during June. July's kits are on their way, but because I live in Canada it takes a while, by which time social media has been alight with the new creations and then the tumbleweed has set in when I start posting 😂 Just to say, they are great value for money, and I think if you live in the US they are a great deal! From what I can see for July's kit, the envelope die is fabulous! I think the Happy Birthday Glimmer die will be a staple for me. I think it will be really helpful for male cards, as they can sometimes be tricky. Some exciting things are ahead in the crafting world, so whatever you create, enjoy every minute 💗

  • Spellbinders Small Die of the Month-June

Hi friends! As I noted on Instagram, I am afraid I will always be late posting a card I have created with any Spellbinders Kit of the Month. Postage can take a wee while from the US to Canada, but during these Covid times, snail mail can be ridiculously long! These cards were created using the Small Die of the Month for April. In my younger days I used to be avid machine sewer, dressmaking/curtains etc, but I did dab in a bit of embroidery too. This die was kind of unique and I thought it would be really handy to die cut four, glue two together to ensure a solid canvas, and embroider them while glamping. Yes, glamping, not camping. I tried that a few times and I can not bear the thought of crawling out of a tent on my hands and knees now I am over 50! I popped in to Michaels to get specific embroidery cotton colours for these. If you buy bulk packs you can get tons of colours, but I know I would never use half of them. I like pretty and soft colour combos usually, so these cards were my choices. My thoughts on making these cards were, 'wow, the recipient must be well worth saying thanks to for the work put into these' 😂 One thing though, it was great therapy and in the end I really quite enjoyed the experience, especially while enjoying a glass of Prosecco! Watch out, because a framed embroidery die was released, so I may try my hand at those too. Take care and bye for now

  • Washi Tape Cards & Envelopes-Pinkfresh Studio

Good morning crafty friends! A couple of months ago I was fortunate enough to win the whole months release from Pinkfresh Studio. It included all the new washi tapes, matching stamp set and matching dies. You will recall I made a point of promoting the washi's as a way of gratitude of my winnings. Well, last week I was fortunate again to be a guest designer for Pinkfresh studio in an Instagram hop, which I spoke about in my previous post. Indigo Vines Today, I wanted to share the combination of these winnings and the new mini slimline envelope die that was also being released. I was curious to know how the washi tapes would turned out if I used them with the mini slimline envelope die. Well, they turned out pretty cool actually! English Garden The mini slimline envelope die is the perfect size for one full strip of any given pattern (if you know what I mean?). I love thick cardstock and I die cut the cardstock to the size of one panel. But, as the crease for the back flaps was quite slim, I decided to cut the extra pieces in 80 lb white cardstock, this worked a treat! It's pretty on the other side of the envelope as when sealed, the white contrasts with the top and bottoom of the flaps and the washi florals. As the washi is quite shiny, using pen to address the envelope could be tricky. I have address stickers, which is what I would use if I was going to post the cards. Anemone Magic I love products that are pretty, helpful and make me look a genius carmaker! Hahahah...the washi tapes from Pinkfresh Studio fit perfectly! I hope I have inspired you to try one of them and have some fun. Bye for now
