Sliding Snowflakes

Hi crafty friends,

Welcome back to the Pinkfresh Studio card blog. Today, I am sharing an interactive seasonal card design using the brand new Side Slider Die.

Now and again, it's so fun to make an interactive card and this die makes it a breeze! I had the idea of somehow having floating/sliding snowflakes. I spied the newly released Folk Snowflake but it was a bit too big. Therefore, I decide to use the Large Snowflakes dies that were released in August.

I wanted some subtle flecks on the snowflake die cuts. To achieve this, I hot foiled the Sparkle & Shine Hot Foil Plate in silver. Then, I die cut the snowflakes out of this. Very cool effect!

I built up the Side Slider Die using pink and white cardstock. On the pink front panel I ink blended some Coral Reef and splattered with silver. This all adds interest to the backdrop.

The snowflakes were popped up on foam dots including the one on the slider. Just in the centres to allow them to look floaty (if you know what I mean?)

Using detailed black ink I stamped two different sentiments from the Holiday Sentiments-Large. One directly onto the inside slider, the second on spare white cardstock. I die cut this out a couple of times and place it on the front pink panel.

The newly release Clear Drops really added that extra something, something. It's very rare that I mix two different coloured blings on my designs. But, it really worked here so I alternated between the Blush and Ice Clear Drops.

I hope I have inspired you to get interactive this season friends.

Until next time....
