  • Songbirds at Christmas

Hi Pinkfresh Studio friends I really enjoyed sharing a card last time using non seasonal products with seasonal ones, and judging by the feedback, you did too. So, in that same vain I am sharing a card design using the Songbirds on Branches Hot Foil. Though, if you do not have a hot foil machine you can get the Songbirds on Branches Cling Stamp which you could heat emboss instead. This set is one of my all time favourites released by Pinkfresh Studio. It's so elegant and can be used for any occasion. The co-ordinating stencils make colouring the images such a breeze. I imagined the bird and branches hanging off a Christmas bauble and thought it would make the perfect seasonal design. To begin I hot foiled in Champagne. I then used the coordinating stencils to colour the images with some of the new inks. Sage, Lush Forest, Peony & Mulberry Blush. The background felt a little bland so I die cut the new Snowflakes Cover Die then cut the die cut in half, corner to corner. I hot foiled one of the Nested Circles Hot Foil and popped this up on foam dots. After die cutting the coloured images I chose just one of the birds with some of the branches and arranged them over the bauble. I wanted the bauble to look as though it was hanging so I die cut the bow and ribbon from the Wrap Around Elements in Champagne cardstock. To finish, I pulled out some Ruby Glitter Drops and placed them around the branches in three's which, I think finished this seasonal card off perfectly. Gosh, I love how this turned out! Great job Cheryl! I have made a reel that you can find over on Instagram @pinkfreshstudio so keep an eye out for it if you want to watch this card come together. I also share reels @cherylespiecreates if you want more inspration from me. Until next time friends....

  • Candy Cane Noel

Hi friends I am over on the Pinkfresh Studio blog today sharing this whimsical, and fun card design inspired by this months challenge. I have been on the Pinkfresh Studio team all through 2023 and I still cannot believe it! Anyway, all this year I have never wrote a blog post that uses the regular Pinkfresh Studio monthly challenge as inspiration. I wanted to use the colours in the challenge and I wanted to design something whimsical, pretty and sparkly! The Folk Snowflake is the best snowflake stamp ever (in my humble opinion) and so I visioned this image over a card base with candy cane stripes. Hence the name of my card today. First I heat embossed the Folk Snowflake three times in white over an A2 card panel. Then, I used the colours suggested in the challenge to ink blend fun stripes over the snowflakes. The ink colours used were Candy Apple, Slumber, Lush Forest and Cherry Blossom. I only ink blended very lightly as Candy Apple and Lush Forest can be beautiful bold colours but I wanted them to be a bit lighter. When I was finished blending I grabbed some kitchen towel and ribbed over the snowflakes to take off any excess ink. Of course, I had to add some something extra so I splatter the whole panel with gold. I chose gold because I knew I would be using sparkly gold for the lettering. Using the Kaitlin Alpha Die Set I cut out NOEL. The font in this set is perfect for the whimsical, sparkly candy cane backdrop. I die cut the letter bases in sparkly gold and the top letter in white. This would tie in the white snowflake and the white border trim. Once placed and popped up with foam dots, I added a bold black and white sentiment from the Basic Banners Christmas set. To finish, I added some of the Pinkfresh Studio Champagne Glitter Drops in the centres of the Folk Snowflakes as well as around the black and white sentiment. I was torn here, as I could have used any colours really that coordinated with the inks used. How cute is this card? It turned out so fun, whimsical and pretty, with lots of seasonal sparkle. As always, I have a reel that you will be able to view over on Instagram @pinkfreshstudio Make sure you enter the challenge too, especially if you are already making seasonal cards! Until next time friends.....

  • Fairytale Framed Roses

Hi Pinkfresh Studio friends! I am over on the Pinkfresh Studio blog today writing my final blog post of 2023 for Pinkfresh Studio. What a year it has been! December saw the release of the first ever Pinkfresh Studio Press Plates and it was so exciting. I hadn't used the BetterPress system until this release but it is so easy to use and you can get magnificent results. Today, I am sharing the Fairytale Frame Press Plate and as I write this, it is already sold out.  But, more are on the way so make sure you add your email to be notified as soon as it comes in stock. For my design, I used the Pinkfresh Studio Detail Black ink with the Fairytale Frame Press Plate. I wanted to colour with Copic markers and the PFS Detail Black ink does not bleed when colouring the images. As I had Valentine's Day inspiration in mind when designed this card, I opted for strong reds to contrast with the black. Once coloured, I die cut the frame and added some foam dots to the back. I then placed the frame over an A2 Dotted Scallop die cut panel. This added some interest to the background but allowed the red and black of the frame to pop. Guess, what I did? Well, I heat embossed in champagne gold, one of the sentiments from the brand new Favorite Things Sentiment Press Plate! It foiled beautifully. To tie in the hot foiling with the bold black and reds, I added some Pinkfresh Studio Gold Metallic Pearls. Voila.....Valentine's inspiration just for you! I filmed my process and made a reel, so make sure you head over to Instagram  @pinkfreshstudio to check it out. Well friends, I will sign off......but before I do... I want to wish each and every one of you a happy and fulfilling holiday season. Big hugs

  • Ornate Floral Monograms

Happy New Year Pinkfresh Studio friends!!! I'm back for another term with Pinkfresh Studio. I could not be more pleased to continue with their creative team...I feel honoured to continue my card design journey with them. My first post for 2024 shares a fun way to use the Floral Square, Floral Round and the Floral Octagon Press Plates all through the year! These press plates were released last month in December. When I saw the Kaitlin Alpha previously released with that amazing font, I knew I wanted to design some monogram cards with these press plate products. Let's look at how these cards came together. First, I used the BetterPress LetterPress System that is now available in the Pinkfresh Studio store along with each Floral Press Plate. I used the PFS Detailed Black Ink for the Press Plates as it as I knew I was going to colour the images with my Copic markers. The cardstock is the Porcelain White A2 card panels (regular weight), also available in the store. I then used the press plates co-ordinating dies to die cut each framed image after colouring them. I attached each Floral Frame Die Cut onto a panel from the Ornate Banner Die Set leaving room below for the sentiment. Did you see the brand new Glitter Cardstock that Pinkfresh Studio also released last month? Wow, it's amazing! It die cut the Kaitlin Alpha beautifully. For my designs I die cut letters in Sliver, Champagne, Rose Gold and Midnight Navy (which is stunning!) as I thought it would be so lovely to send a card with the monogram of the recipients name. For each of my cards, I decided to add a bannered sentiment so, I pulled out the Basic Banners Celebrate Stamp Set. After die cutting each sentiment with the coordinating die, I then added some of the same Glitter Cardstock that I used for the monogram. This helped tie the colors together. Eeeeek! I love them ALL!! So easy to make but really adds a personal touch for the recipient. Koudos to Pinkfresh Studio for their amazing products that can coordinate seamlessly. As my usual, I have made a reel showing how these beauties came together. Make sure you keep an eye out over on Instagram @pinkfreshstudio to see it. Well, that's it from me for today. See you next time!

  • Valentine's Slider Card

Hi crafty friends! I thought you would appreciate some Valentine's Day card inspiration.  Therefore, I pulled out the versatile A2 Slider Die by Pinkfresh Studio that was released last year and paired it with the Dreamy Florals Hot Foil Plate. With the A2 Slider Die you could pair it with any stamp set which is definitely a bonus and I find this interactive die quite easy to put together. I pictured a floral design popping up but I wanted to add some colour and some texture. The back part of the die I cut in light pink cardstock. For the front part of the die, I first die cut a white panel with the Sparkling Diamonds Cover Plate beforehand. This added some wonderful texture. I kept the white pull out panel smooth. Using the Around the Shape-Circles Stamp and Die set I cut and stamped that fab sentiment. Meanwhile, using the Dreamy Florals Stencil Set I ink blended Sage and Spruce Tips for the leaves and Cherry Blossom and Begonia for the petals. Soooooo pretty! I also added that little sentiment as an extra reveal when the recipient pulls up the slider. To finish, at the top of the slider pull, I added some gold ribbon. This helped tie in the hot foil to the florals. With the two extra Dreamy Florals you will see I placed one on the front panel, and one on the slider. Do you feel inspired? Do you feel you could give this a try? Let me know in the comments below. Also, check out my reel over on Instagram @pinkfreshstudio as it may help you by watching how the die cut pieces come together. You can see all my reels over on my own Instagram @cherylespiecreates so why not come say hi?! Until next time friends...

  • DIY Interactive A2 Card

Hi crafty friends, Welcome back to my blog! Today, I am sharing a DIY interactive A2 Card that was totally inspired by Jennifer Maguire in one of her a recent live videos. Make sure you go over to see it on her You Tube channel. I loved the idea so much, that I contacted her to ask if I could use her idea to make a card. She said 'sure!'....Yay! There's a few different steps for this design and I filmed the process because that is the best way to see this card come together. The reel will be available on Instagram @pinkfreshstudio so keep an eye out for it. You begin by making your own interactive element which is basically a piece of quality cardstock cut 1 1/2" x 4" scored at 1", 2" and 3". Then you bend at the score marks. For this top folding card, I added some Pinkfresh Studio paper to the front. This just added some subtle interest. Using the Nested Circles Dies, I cut through the the front of the card approximately 2" from the top fold. I then attached the DIY interactive element with double sided sticky tape to the the card itself. After stamping that wonderful sentiment from the Around the Shape Circle Stamp Set, I cut out the circle with the coordinating die and attached this circle to the front panel attached to the element. I then cut out some gorgeous elements from the Artistic Magnolia Washi Tape. These are sooooo pretty. I attached a number of these flowers around my card, inside and out! To finish, I added some Gold Pearls to highlight the gold in the washi tape. Pink and gold always looks to good together, don't you think? Such an interesting design. I liked that when you opened the card, it still has a bunch of flowers inside the card itself. Remember to look for the reel on Instagram @ Pinkfresh Studio because it will help to see it, especially if you want to try this yourself. Also, if you want to find so much more inspiration why not come and follow me on Instagram too @cherylespiecreates Well, that's all from me today friends. Until next time...

This set has such delicate images and die cuts with the most adorable little 'buckle' which I used to add to my ribbon. The colour combo is primarily Bay Leaf, Sage and Paradise and I used the coordinating stencils to ink blend after I had heat embossed the main images. As added detail, I die cut some extra foliage from the new Champagne Glitter cardstock that Pinkfresh Studio recently released. The ribbon is also Champagne cardstock. Sometimes, the background can be a bit bland so just to add some interest I die cut a panel with the Sparkling Diamonds Cover Plate. And, if that wasn't enough...I also die cut one of the Blanket Stitched Ovals. The pretty little sentiment just finished this card off perfectly. My Design-Medallion Border For my card I used the Medallion Border Press Plate with a Porcelain A2 cotton card panel. I used the Medallion Border Press Plate at the top and the bottom of the panel to frame a sentiment from the brand new Favourite Things Sentiments Press Plate. This basic layout then needed a flash of colour and so I used some lilac and pink markers to the pattern. Following this I then added some lilac ink splatter just lightly across the bottome right and the top left. At this point, this could have been left and it would be an easy one layer card and good for mailing without bulk. But, I cannot do that so out came the Silver Metallic Pearls. I just couldnt help myself! I wish you could touch and feel my card, as I dont think photos can pick up the amount of detailed impression there is. I have been playing with all the new Press Plates by Pinkfresh Studio and so I have some inspiration coming up that I will share over on my Instagram @cherylespiecreates, so keep an eye out for that! Well, I hope you like my card and I have helped inspire you to get crafting. For some further inspiration and your chance to win, click on each designers link below ....good luck!!

My Design- Farm Fresh I absolutely adore this little milk churn stamp and die from the brand new Farm Fresh Set. What really makes me smile, is the wonderful fonted sentiments in the stamp set that you can stamp on the milk churn...Eeeek! For this card I die cut the Farm Fresh Coordinating Die from champagne cards]tock and attached this to the back panel.. I then used the same die to cut out the from panel as I planned to make a shaker. On heat resistant acetate, I stamped one of the sentiments in detail black and heat set it with clear embossing powder. Inside the shaker I added some of the new and versatile Ice Clear Drops. After attaching the front shaker panel to the card base, I then pulled out the co-ordinating Farm Fresh Stencils and coloured them with some of the new inks Cherry Blossom, Begonia & Mulberry Blush. • Gina K Designs | October 2023 Release

Hi crafting friends I'm not sure if you know but, I am a regular monthly guest designer for Gina K Designs! I was pretty thrilled when Gina asked me (obviously!) For this month's release I received the pretty Wishful Roses stamp set. This is a layering stamp set but some images could also be used for one stop stamping. My Designs - Wishful Roses My first card uses three full rose images from the stamp set. To achieve that bunched effect, I stamped one image, then masked it, then I repeated this again until all the roses were covered. That allowed me to work on the ink blended background. I uses Speckled Egg oxide ink for that, then splattered with gold and dark grey. After peeling off the masking, I coloured the images with my Copic Sketch markers. Reds: R17 & R29/Greens: G94 & G99/I shadowed the bunched roses with C5 As it was all pretty flat I added some dimension by die cutting Gina K's HUGS die three times and layering them up. Finally, I added some neutral bling and then some accents with my gold and white gel pens. My second card is quite different. I used the laying stamps in the set for this design. First I stamped the full background images in Bubblegum Pink. Then, when COMPLETELY dry, I heat embossed the next layered stamp in gold embossing powder. I cut the panel down and then matted it on an A2 panel of the Dots Poly Glaze that I had foiled in Champagne Gold. As there is b=no die for the big 'Wishing you' sentiment, I decided to heat emboss that in gold on a small panel which I then matted on the front of the card. The Happy Birthday sentiment is stamped with Gina K's Amalgam Black Ink. To finish, I added some neutral bling and some black dotted outlines around the rose images. So, there you go. One stamp set and two completely different card designs to inspire you for this months Gina K Designs October 2023 release. Until next time friends!
